We’ll explain how you can use the latest science in your reporting and target setting, ensuring you’re helping climate change in the best way possible. The SBTI is full of guidance and resources and we’ll chat through how to access these and use them to create a carbon reduction timeline to reach Net Zero by 2050. In 2019 Cheshire West and Chester Council declared a climate emergency stating:
- Climate Change presents a threat to our way of life
- The Council recognises the need to act in-line with worldwide agreements on Climate Change and the best available evidence, which states that, to limit emissions to 1.5°C, there is a requirement to reach ‘net zero’ by 2045
- The Council must play its part by evidencing leadership on this issue.
This service is part of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s response to declaring the climate emergency, in particular providing information to support small and medium sized companies to make changes; informing and engaging business about the net-zero agenda; and supporting businesses to access new initiatives and funding streams.
